All the thoughts
All the words
Always hidden
For fear
Of rejection
Of shame
Of loss
What if
They were set free
What if
I could truly
Be seen
As me?

What power
What courage
What weight
Removed
When the chains come loose
What was once
A self forever
Adapted to make others
Happy
Comfortable
But only others
What if
Those burdens were released
Reality realized
What if
Being myself
Is all I need to do?
