Pressure / Presión

I know the strength inside me
I understand the power given me
I guard it every second as it fights to be free
If I choose not to be me
Then their eyes will never see me
And I will only ever be free
In the quiet corners of my life

The world is not prepared
For the words I have to share
Save those who wish to be aware
Save anyone who even cares
My thoughts will vanish into air
Or cause planetary wounds beyond repair
Gut false reality like a blazing knife

You ask me why my tongue I hold
Why should I not be more bold
Seeing so clear a future that must be told
But the present population, bought and sold
But they resent manipulation of their soul
Unless paid stacks of shiny gold
Shove their purchased hearts into tiny molds
Wait for someone stronger to arrive

Life is just as real
As you want it to feel
And if you find its main appeal
Is what you can conceal
How much attention you can steal
The flaws in others you can reveal
Once my mouth I do unseal
Words so strong they bend pure steel
Wounds so deep they refuse to heal
World given one last chance to get it right
Before that deepest, coldest, darkest night

  5. That is a lot of rhyming words! I feel like I'm reading a rapper's words written down! The message of this is very strong and you write evocatively. I want to know who the elusive 'they', 'them', 'those people' etc are that you are writing about!

  14. Poems are a great way to express oneself and often there are both obscure and obvious meanings behind those words. I'm always very awed by how you manage to express your feelings and yet end them in rhyme. That is such a great talent.

If you ever come here or relocate here, you would have the chance to do s short little staycay and see the pool! But you know what? Nobody swims in that pool. It's full of selfie-taking people. A beautiful sporty Caucasian felt so shy trying to swim coz she was afraid of spoiling people's photos. Hahaha... The cam whore people rule that place! Thank you for the sweet words. Alas, my legs are so stumpy, I need heels now... and in the silhouette shot, I spy calf muscles! Gasp!
