Revelations I : The End Begins / Revelaciones I : El Final Comienza

And all at once
I stood upon a high, high hill
And a voice spoke
As thunderous as the most mighty storm
"Behold"
And across the bright, blue sky
Darkness crept
Devouring all light

Y todos a la vez
Me paré sobre un alto, colina alta
Y una voz habló
Como un estruendoso como la tormenta más poderosa
"He aquí"
Y en todo el, cielo azul brillante
deslizó la Oscuridad
Devorando toda la luz

And the darkness spread forth apace
Unrestrained
Transforming day
To a night the world had never seen
The last, long night
It would ever see

Y la oscuridad se extendió sucesivamente a buen ritmo
desenfrenado
Transformando día
Para una noche que el mundo nunca había visto
La última, la noche
Sería a ver

The sun burned with great fury
Against this withering assault
Firey flames as tall as the world itself
Lashed out to meet it
To drive it back
The darkness did not falter
And a quiet, dull chuckle
Echoed to every corner
To every ear
Because he who ruled the darkness
For him fire had no fear

  2. It certainly sounds very much in the toting style of St Peter. Who is chuckling though? Slightly unnerving.

    1. Peter? Wow, thanks. I was going for that tone but I kept having trouble staying with it. The tale was overpowering the tone. Who is chuckling? You mean it wasn't you?

  7. I love the finishing words..and I believe them! Fire isn't afraid of dark...this poem reminded me of the Lord of Light by Roger Zelanzny.

It is a very powerful poem, bibical and epic in feeling...I see why some of the above comments compare it with Revealation.

    Have a great day!

P.s.Sorry to disappoint, but no bikini shots.

    1. Well I was listening to the LOTR soundtrack as I wrote it so...almost. Thank you so much. You really absorbed it and felt it. As for the P.S. that genuinely made me sad. Really had my hopes up. But I do appreciate you letting me know.

    2. I liked the LOTR soundtrack but I still prefer the books to the movies because they are more deep and sophisticated. I was 10 when I read the LOTR for the first time so as a long time fan I was a bit critical about the films:)

I would recommend Lord of Light, it's totally unique.

p.s. No reason to be sad about:) Nothing that can't be seen someplace else:)
