Light crushed between dirt and dwindling sky
Heat all that is left to breathe
All that was once Earth
Melts as if a candle
Clouds of fire circle and fall
The spears of death man sowed into the very soil
Ignite, explode, each in its sarcophagus of metal and concrete
And I feel the planet creak and groan
And my ears are assaulted with deafening blasts
And I witness clouds like mushrooms
Dotting the horizon
Painting the sky
But then each quickly swallowed
By the incessant darkness from above
