High above
Cords and cables
Make us able

With those

Also read
Energy and power
Supply us every hour
To keep
Our souls
Well fed.
But should a wind
Of mighty verve
Attack these fragile strands
Or lightning strike
To send a surge
Of supply
Far past
Demand.
We are then left
Deep in the dark
A quiet, lonely place
Kept so very far apart
From those
We would
Embrace.
Our lines
Of highest worth
Should not dangle hapless in the air
Bury them
Deep in the Earth
Deep in your heart
With effort
Love
And care.
