Truly Noble Beasts / Verdaderamente Nobles Bestias

Late at night
Deep in the zoo
You will catch a wondrous sight
For whether they walked or swim or flew
The animals make music tonight

Each one brings an instrument
They have now so grown to love
Brass, woodwinds and percussion
Or voices like the dove

The rhino refuses to play a horn
For its too on the nose
Zebra hooves meet trash cans
A grooving rhythm now is born

Flamingo on the saxophone
A turtle drums his shell
A walrus bark
An aardvark hark
Hyenas rhythmic laughter
The choir swells
With cries that dwell
In Earth's deep ever after

The symphony arises full
A sound so sweet and deep
Tonight they play as loud as they may
Every species, whether feathers, fur or wool
Except for man
Who formed a plan
To put themselves to sleep
They left the stage
In mortal rage
To the truly noble beasts

Ponerse a dormir
Dejaron el escenario
En rabia mortal
A las bestias nobles

Buenos dias Rick,

Rick, you wrote this? No way! This sounds just like a poem taken from a book called the "Truly Noble Beasts". I'm sure I've seen it around somewhere. And the author. I guess the author stole your works and went by other name. I love this poem! I love this to bits. It is a beautiful and magical poem.
