Immortality in mortal form
How many have made this wish
How few knew the costs

Attempting to live forever
Without prying eyes discovering
Calls for sacrifices extraordinary
My greatest dream
Prior to my violent journey forward
To share the words inside my head
In forms of poem and theater
Now terrified of the attention
Their success might bring

And so an alias is brought forth
Named in part with a wink
To my hands
Which, since I saw the world die,
Had not been still, tremors unending
And so I appeared to shake
And so my shakes appeared
And lo there was a Shakespeare
And then I sat and watched
For centuries
As scholars attempted to unwind a mystery
Their reality could not perceive

Even the demon itself
Everything will cease to be
Everything but me
