Climbing Clouds / Nubes Escalada

Lately, I have been noticing clouds quite often, especially ones such as in the picture above; gigantic, massive, towering, like far-off mountain ranges on the horizon.

Últimamente, he estado notando nubes muy a menudo, especialmente los como en la imagen de arriba; gigantesco, enorme, que se eleva, como rangos lejanas montañas en el horizonte.

But mountains they are not.  A gathering of condensed water vapor is all they truly are.  Unlike mountains, which require massive explosives to get through or great effort to climb over, one can soar through the enormous, puffy clouds with very little effort.

Pero montañas no lo son. Una reunión de vapor de agua condensada es todo lo que realmente son. A diferencia de las montañas, que requieren enormes explosivos para obtener a través de o gran esfuerzo para pasar por encima, uno puede elevarse a través de las enormes nubes hinchadas con muy poco esfuerzo.

And it got me to thinking, how many of the challenges I see in my life as mountains are really clouds?  When problems or issues come to me, my first instinct is to take action to solve them, do something, climb the mountain.  But so many things that come at a person in life, those clouds, actually just require you to keep moving forward, keep walking with purpose and keep being you.

Y me puse a pensar, ¿cuántos de los retos que veo en mi vida como montañas son realmente nubes? Cuando los problemas o cuestiones vienen a mí, mi primer instinto es tomar medidas para resolverlos, hacer algo, subir a la montaña. Pero tantas cosas que vienen a una persona en la vida, esas nubes, en realidad sólo requieren que se mantenga en movimiento hacia adelante, seguir caminando con propósito y seguir siendo tú.

How silly would a person look, after all, trying to climb a cloud?  All sorts of effort that looks impressive but gets you nowhere.  All that effort that could be better used so many places.  But it is so hard to do nothing more than be, than to keep being, than to breathe and live and smile and laugh and trust and let go.


Qué tonto sería una persona mira, después de todo, tratando de subir una nube? Todo tipo de esfuerzo que se ve impresionante, pero te lleva a ninguna parte. Todo ese esfuerzo que podría ser mejor utilizado tantos lugares. Pero es tan difícil de hacer nada más que estar, que mantener el bienestar, que a respirar y vivir y sonreír y reír y la confianza y la soltó.

But it is so important to be able to tell the difference,  because there are mountains, real mountains, that will rise up in your life and they will take everything you have within you to get over.  Wasting that in times when you do not need it leaves you weaker for when you will, or for when someone else needs to lean on your strength as none exist alone.

Pero es tan importante ser capaz de notar la diferencia, porque hay montañas, montañas reales, que se levantarán en su vida y que tomarán todo lo que tienes dentro de ti para conseguir más. Perder el que en tiempos cuando no lo necesitas te deja más débil para cuando se quiere, o para cuando alguien más tiene que apoyarse en su fuerza, ya que ninguno existe solo.
