Sandy Hook

Take it from someone who feels strong emotion the same way most feel warmth and chill, the world is growing more fearful, desperate and furious with each passing day.  And it is no easy to hide away from it, lock safely away our hearts, build walls we think have the power to keep it all out.  And we seem so small against a tide of darkness that stains every shore that action seems pointless.
But know this, you can fight it, you must fight it or you are part of it.  Smile at people, go that extra mile for someone regardless of what it means to them or for you, take risks, face fears, look into faces and see the hurt and damage people try and keep hidden away, let yourself feel the pain of others, and let others share yours as well.
Today’s tragedy was a symptom of a much deeper problem.  A problem that can only be solved one person at a time.  I encourage you to let this be the day your problems don’t seem so bad.  The day when perspective can take hold of you and turn you away from sinking so deeply into yourself and instead pointing your eyes outward.  The world needs you, every last wonderful beautiful one of you.
