Comics that Stand Up

Much better than Mickey Rourke.

Greetings, true believers, and welcome to All Things Bright and Lovely.  As you may have gathered, today's post is an homage to some of the comics from my multiduenous collection.   These are some that barely missed the cut of the wallpaper border I made for the Nerd Hut.

How many can you name?

The Fantastic Four, one from the 60's and the 20th anniversary issue from the 80's.

The X-Men and Avengers look a bit different these days, but Spidey is still Spidey.

Marvel Tales was a series that re-printed some of Marvel's earliest hits.  It was a great way for me to get caught up as someone starting with them in the 80's.

Oy, its the Kangaroo.  Un-fair dinkum.
I quite like the bat hubcap.

Plenty of women in the collection as well including the Amazing Amazon Wonder Woman (who quite resembles one of my fair followers).)  Also, Batgirl and Supergirl here making like the Lucy and Ethel of the spandex set.

Superman is lookin' wasted, brah!

The Justice League of America (apparently soon coming to a theater near you) is a never-ending source of quality covers, especially from the 60's.  One one side, a Jimi Hendrix-esque guitar wielder has ensnared the JLA a la the Pied Piper.  And on the other side, a group of heroes from the 1940's enlist them to beat Hitler.

Tons more to share but that's a good start for post 1.  Hope you enjoyed this look back into comics' history or, at the very least, the bright colors. :D  Thanks to all who commented on my last post, my goofy faces.  That means SO much to me.  Hip-hop hugs to the lot of you.

as you know I'm more of a marvel than a DC fan. but I learned a few new things from your post. Thanks! I like this one! I pretty much enjoy them all. haven't seen buddy much is he off doing superhero cat things?I know buddy is just his alternate ego so if he's busy doing extraordinary acts of courage I understand. please give him my best.

And how often do you get to see Spiderman in Vogue? There was a comic in the 60's you might have liked called "Millie the Model" :)
