Who are you?
Don’t look in the mirror.Watch what you do
Watch how you are
And see the who.
And decide then if your vision
Should be clearer.
Don’t look at the candles on your cake.
Tell me when your soul first came awake
And the passion filled your eyes and ears
With that purpose you sought
For endless years.
The answer now blaring like a horn.
Don’t look at your parts.
Cars have parts.
Find the answer in your heart
And then
Put it on full view.
Don’t look at your hands.
Pigment
Is a figment
Of small imaginations.
And when a rainbow is provided
Why think so small?
Why think at all?
Just shine.
Where do you live?
Don’t look at your address.Where your mind spends its time
Is your true home.
Embrace it
Or pack your things
And move.
Don’t look at the scales.
That number measure only clay.
What is truly weighing you down
Is so visible in your eyes.
Work to shed those vicious, inner-pounds.
And get your self-contentment up a size.
Don’t look at the year.
Life is more than turning of a calendar page.
Absorbing new experiences,
Facing fear
Sharing love
How much those appeal to you
Is the only measure of your age.
Don't look for the easy answer.
Don't look away.
Don't look for the comforting lie.
Because only you can know
But many others care.
You think that is not so?
Don't look farther than right here.
Thanks so much for checking out my poem. Hope you enjoyed it. You are SO amazing and special to me. Never doubt it :)
