What If / Y Si

What if
All the thoughts
All the words
Always hidden
For fear
Of rejection
Of shame
Of loss
What if
They were set free
What if
I could truly
Be seen
As me?

What power
What courage
What weight
Removed
When the chains come loose
What was once
A self forever
Adapted to make others
Happy
Comfortable
But only others
What if
Those burdens were released
Reality realized
What if
Being myself
Is all I need to do?

What if
Someone
Sees this self
So awkward
So odd
And yet
So loving
So true
What if
Someone
Sees my self
And then they say
"Me too"
What if?

Y si
Todos los pensamientos
Todas las palabras
Siempre escondido
Por miedo
De rechazo
De vergüenza
De pérdida
Y si
Se pusieron en libertad
Y si
Podría realmente
Véase
¿Como mí?

Que poder
Que coraje
Que peso
Quitado
Cuando las cadenas vienen sueltas
Lo que era una vez
Un mí para siempre
Adaptado para hacer a otros
Feliz
Cómodo
Pero sólo otros
Y si
Aquellas cargas se soltaron(se publicaron)
La realidad realizó(comprendió)
Y si
Ser mí
¿Es todo que tengo que hacer?

Y si
Alguien
Ve esto mí
Tan torpe
Tan raro
Y aún
Tan cariño Tan verdadero
Y si
Alguien
Ve mi mí
Y luego dicen
"Yo también"
¿Y si?

Aww such a lovely poem. I quote: What if being myself is all I need to do.... This answers all your questions.

Hi dear!
In my opinion "what if" are the most fearest words I can think, because world of possibilites is so much bigger than relality...
But as always, wonderful poem!

Very profound words and basically true, but sometimes we have to adapt slightly to our surroundings. I think being youself is a question of give and take. xoxo

Very beautiful poem Shamu, I think if you did all those things that you wonder "what if" then you will def get the answer "me too" :) I'm so impressed by your ability to create this beautiful poems in both languages! nice job :)
XOXO

Complex situation. I think the "me" depends of the context. like I can see a different "you" than a different person cause you will act different on different periods and context, so I am still reflecting on this

Do it. Be yourself. I watched The perks of being a wallflower last night. Be yourself, I love being eccentric, I am myself and do you know, it is not so bad! X
