Human Nature / Naturaleza Humana

A self
So submerged
A field
Of blossoms in bright bloom
Under layers
Of concrete
Each stem
Striving
Reaching
Fighting to be seen
Half withered from the journey
Starved for lack of nourishment
Yet parting hard stone
As soft earth
Refusing to stop
Until leaves touch warm sunshine
Drink sweet rain
Springing back upright
When trampled by uncaring feet
Watching
As a grim, dark slab
Becomes the meadow
It was meant to be
Singing in elegant harmony
A tune that is uniquely me

Un mí
Tan sumergido
Un campo
De flores en flor brillante
Bajo capas

Pretty flowers. They suit the tone of this poem. Brightness juxtaposed with dull concrete.

To lift your spirits spend time with Nature. She will lend you her power until you become aware of your own.

Great photos!

Wow, wonderful topic and fantastic thoughts, these flowers are like those poor babies who survive even in starvation, poverty and war. Love the pics too. Wish you a beautiful weekend!

Hola Rick,
