How Often / Con Qué Frecuencia

The world is smaller
Than it has ever been
Connections we rarely notice
Link us tighter than we understand

How often
Have my footsteps trod the same ground as yours?

How often
Have my eyes been wonderfully blinded
By light from the same magnifcient sunrise
That floods through your windows?

How often
Has exhaled air
From deep within our lungs
Been something that we share?

How often
Have the same songs
Been heard
By both of us
Been felt
In the heart of us
Made our bodies sway
Our minds drift away?

How often
Have the same thoughts
Haunted both of us
Kept us from action
Kept us from joy

How small
The world would truly be
If we remembered how much
We are all alike
And
How often.

El mundo es más pequeño
De lo que ha sido nunca
Conexiones rara vez notamos

Has algo que compartimos?

Con qué frecuencia
Tienen las mismas canciones
ha escuchado
Por tanto de nosotros
ha sentido
En el corazón de nosotros
Made nuestros cuerpos se balancean
Nuestras mentes se alejan?

Con qué frecuencia
Tener los mismos pensamientos
Atormentado ambos
Nos mantuvo de acción
Nos mantuvo de alegría

¿Qué tan pequeño
El mundo sería verdaderamente
Si nos acordamos de lo mucho
Somos todos iguales
y
Con qué frecuencia.

True, the world would become smaller if we concentrated on our similarities rather than differences.. Lovely poem, Shamu!

Indeed, how often? Good, we don't really notice and count all those "how often". Lovely poem, dear friend, and I always like the images that you find to illustrate your poems. Have a nice day!
