Revelations IV: Immortality / Revelaciones IV: Inmortalidad

Immortality in mortal form
How many have made this wish
How few knew the costs
None but me
Attempting to live forever
Without prying eyes discovering
Calls for sacrifices extraordinary
My greatest dream
Prior to my violent journey forward
To share the words inside my head
In forms of poem and theater
Now terrified of the attention
Their success might bring

La inmortalidad en forma mortal
¿Cuántos han hecho de este deseo
Cómo pocos sabían los costes
Nadie más que yo
El intento de vivir para siempre
Sin ojos curiosos de descubrir
Pide sacrificios extraordinarios
Mi mayor sueño
Antes de mi viaje violento hacia adelante
Para compartir las palabras dentro de mi cabeza
En las formas de poesía y teatro
Ahora aterrorizado de la atención
Su éxito podría traer

And so an alias is brought forth
Named in part with a wink
To my hands
Which, since I saw the world die,
Had not been still, tremors unending
And so I appeared to shake
And so my shakes appeared
And lo there was a Shakespeare
And then I sat and watched
For centuries
As scholars attempted to unwind a mystery
Their reality could not perceive

Y así un alias cuando naciere
Nombrado en parte, con un guiño
A mis manos
Lo cual, desde que vi el mundo muere,
No había estado quieto, temblores sin fin
Y así me presenté a temblar
Y así mis batidos aparecieron
Y he aquí que había un Shakespeare
Y entonces me senté y observé
por siglos
Como estudiosos intentaron descansar un misterio
Su realidad no podía percibir

Bonds with others
Though longed for were forbidden
And yet, at times
Indulged for pure necessity
Loneliness overpowering fear
To bring a like soul near
And yet, every time
Only for a short while

Bonos con los demás
Aunque anhelado fueron prohibidos
Y, sin embargo, a veces,
Complacido por pura necesidad
Soledad miedo abrumador
Para traer un alma como la cerca
Y, sin embargo, cada vez que
Sólo por un corto tiempo

Having seen the end of all things
It proved difficult
Not to see how everything
And everyone
Would one day end
While I continued
A loving face before me
Looks as if a barren grave
The most magnificent palace
A rubble strewn with death
Great leaders, great nations
Powerful art
Even the demon itself
Everything will cease to be
Everything but me

this poem is so much...everyone wants to be immortal, and I am one of them...the end of the world is promising a paradise after it..hopefully we can be at the paradise God has set for those who follow Him in actions...
xoxo my friend, Shamu...keep writing!

This is more ubiquitous Shamu-style verse with its focus on loneliness. It is clever the way you have written it, you have given a clever sense of eons passing.. Why Shakespeare? Why not Wordsworth? Is this the end or is there more?

I would never want mortality for myself only...never dreamed of it..to watch all the people you loved pass away? worlds change? Would be too much for me...Great poem, dear friend, makes one think...

Extraordinary poem, you should publish a book with your poems, you have a special way of writing, it is not easy to raise through your words and you succeed.

waow that's interesting. Are you in some kind of transition ?
Anyway, I can't remember if I replied to one of your comment since I had some crazy weeks lately (and memory loss !) but anyway, yeah my "joke" was on purpose. I dunno if I can write english really clearly but I can understand it fine and I try to make jokes (but sometimes it just doesn't work in english ^^)
