Inspired By ... Three's Company / Inspirado por ... Compañía de Tres

It is so very nice that you have stopped by to visit!  Wonderful to have you here :)  Today there is a new feature on the blog.  We will make use of my time machine to venture backwards to the days when your friend Shamu was small.  There we will see some of the things that shaped him into the person that he is today.  You will have to insert your own sound effects for the time travel as our budget here at ATBAL was blown just by building the darn thing :)

Es muy agradable que ha dejado de visitar! Maravilloso tenerte aquí :) Hoy en día hay una nueva característica en el blog. Haremos uso de mi máquina del tiempo para aventurarse hacia atrás a los días en que su amigo Shamu era pequeña. No vamos a ver algunas de las cosas que le dieron forma a la persona que es hoy. Usted tendrá que introducir sus propios efectos de sonido para el viaje en el tiempo como nuestro presupuesto aquí en ATBAL fue volado simplemente mediante la construcción de la maldita cosa :)

My biggest influence growing up was the television and the people that lived inside it were my friends.  My favorites among them were Jack, Janet and Chrissy on the program "Three's Company"

Mi mayor influencia crecía era la televisión y las personas que vivían en su interior eran mis amigos. Mis favoritos entre ellos eran Jack, Janet y Chrissy en el programa "Apartamento para tres"

The show did, and still does, delight me.  It has held up so well for me, just as funny and charming as it was in the 1970's.  One straight man living platonically with two single ladies, a daring and bold idea for the times.  So much so that Jack had to pretend to be homosexual so the landlord would allow him to live there.

El espectáculo hizo, y aún así, me deleite. Se ha mantenido tan bien para mí, así como divertido y encantador como lo fue en la década de 1970. Un hombre recto vivir platónicamente con dos mujeres individual, una idea atrevida y audaz para la época. Tanto es así que Jack tuvo que fingir ser homosexual por lo que el arrendador le permitiría vivir allí.

But at the heart of everything, past all the silly circumstances and misunderstandings, the true foundation of this show is love.  It shines through with such a sweetness, and slightly naughty yet totally innocent celebration of friendship and kindness.  It taught me so many lessons.  Men and women can be friends.  What friendship really is.  How love can be shown openly, even as a man, with no threat to masculinity.  What love can really look like between people and the beautiful results it can produce.  Growing up so often alone, with two parents addicted to alcohol, with my main companions being babysitters, a friendship such as these three had seemed so amazing and still does to this day.  Even now I search for my own Janet and Chrissy to share silly adventures with, full of sweetness and love.

Pero en el centro de todo, más allá de todas las circunstancias tontos y malos entendidos, el verdadero fundamento de este espectáculo es el amor. Brilla a través de una dulzura tal, y la celebración levemente traviesa sin embargo, totalmente inocente de la amistad y la bondad. Me enseñó muchas lecciones. Los hombres y las mujeres pueden ser amigos. Lo que realmente es la amistad. ¿Cómo se puede demostrar amor abiertamente, así como un hombre, sin la amenaza a la masculinidad. Lo que el amor realmente puede ser similar entre las personas y los excelentes resultados que puede producir. Al crecer tan a menudo solo, con dos padres adictos al alcohol, con mis compañeros principales son niñeras, una amistad como estos tres habían parecido tan increíble y todavía lo hace en la actualidad. Incluso ahora busco mi propia Janet y Chrissy para compartir aventuras tontas con, llenos de dulzura y amor.
