Greeting my fabulous friends and welcome back to ATBAL. First of all, thank you SO much (more than I can say) for the wonderful comments on my poem. You showed me such kindness and sweetness and I felt so accepted and appreciated. Many dozen hugs for all of you and furry cat kisses too :)
For today's post, it is a trip inside my swinging bachelor pad, a brief glimpse of my comfy, nerdy lair. Starting above we have my Lord of the Rings bookends with Gandalf in Bag End a knock, knock, knocking on Bilbo's door.
Usted me mostró tanta amabilidad y dulzura y me sentí tan aceptados y apreciados.
This was once a roof tile painted by a very talented artists. It was a gift a few Christmases past and I quite like it.
My record player, in all its glory.
Mi tocadiscos, en todo su esplendor.
My bright and fun shower curtain, which I chose to help me wake up in the morning.
The lacy, white curtains in my bedroom. I know, it's a little macho and makes me look like such a tough guy, but who can resist lace :)
My tiny but perfect kitchen.
Mi cocina pequeña pero perfecta.
This fancy lamp was my mother's.
And this was hers as well. None of us ever had any idea what it was. Well other than totally cool of course :)
The last item from Mom was this, a very antique lightning rod. How and why she ended up with this (once atop her grandparents' home decades ago) I have no idea. Never had it on my house, but if there is ever a storm inside I am safe :)
An etched metal plate from Wendel August Forge, which is located near where my parent grew up in Pennsylvania. This depicts the light house in Erie.
Yes, its Gandalf again. My nerd hut display case is in constant state of creation and change.
The Dragon Heart. With such a lovely glow.
El corazón de dragón. Con un brillo tan hermoso.
And pretty miss California closes out the show with those bright eyes.

Thank you so much, Sweet Amy. I really enjoy my records in all their scratchy glory. And, as wonderful as it is to have impressed you with my mastery of languages, I must be honest and say I am using a translator program on these. The only Spanish I know is ocho tigres en el bano.
ReplyThanks, dear. Of course I will follow your cool blog. My pleasure :)
ReplyI know! It looks old but actually got it from Target for pretty cheap and works great.

ReplyLove the lightning rod! the second weird thing of your mothers that no one has a clue what it is is pretty cool too. Between the pink shower curtain and your bedroom curtains I don't think you have to worry about too many people kicking your ass... you are coming off as so freaking macho.
Replyoh my god have any of them hide to attack Cali?
ReplyHaha your new phone is only slightly more coherent than the last. But actually, she is uno tiger herself
ReplyThanks so much :). now just have to figure out what it will be
ReplyI ooze machismo. The doctor gave me a cream she swears will help though.
ReplyBeautiful record player. You have a very good collection of things in your house...
ReplyHeeee heeeeeee....make sure you take care of this one don't treat it like that heartburn!
Replythanks for the tour of Chez Rick :)
ReplyYour house looks like a museum! I would never see another house like this! You got me really curious about that gadget/product/thingy that you mum owned. I really cannot make out what it is.
ReplyThanks so much and thanks for stopping by :)
ReplyWell, the clean parts anyway :)
ReplyMum was a bit off and even she was not quite sure. It is odd, original and colorful so it reminds me so much of her :)
ReplyI have a tiffany lamp too! They are so pretty! Your house looks fun!
ReplyMy house is such a mix of pieces from mom and I (and a few stray ladies that popped in and out) that I will not live long enough to blog it all :) Every time I enter a room I think "oh yes, that too." So sweet of you to check out this post, dear :)
ReplyIt would be so lovely to hear from you. I promise to respond either here or on your blog.
