Previously in Revelations: Taken twice to witness the end of all things, our hero finally faces his destiny and accepts the task given him by a shining stranger: Protect the bloodlines of the two men that may one day bring hope for a new future.
Upon finally returning to his hometown of London after a harrowing journey, our hero must help his young charge, Louisa, adjust to her new life, even as ghosts of the old one still haunt her...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The dawn had just arrived
When a weary Romeo bore us
To the edges of great London
Straightaway I made for a peddler
Of frocks and garments most fine
For neither my charge or I
Presented the best of ourselves
In clothes that reflected our weariness so well
And in entering Louisa didst gasp in surprise
Never had she seen such beautiful garb
As she looked down at her scruffy dress
Tattered and rife with holes
And then up to the gowns surrounding us
Her face was made red as flame
A look of such embarrassment and shame
Wiped away by the combination
Of my hand on her shoulder
And the kind eyes of the shopkeeper
And thus to shopping we went
Several grand choices were made for us both
To make us look like denizens
Of this modern town
Paid for and then carried by me
As I led Louisa atop Romeo
To my humble abode
Upon arrival it was with great relief I noted
The absence of the ethereal vandalism
That once marked my wall
Informing me of Carrickfergus
And the head full of red curls
Awaiting my protection there
A bath was drawn and I didst wait outside
As my young friend washed herself
Knowing the deeper stains she now bore
Would be years in the cleansing
And then she emerged, so lovely
Sporting the dress I bade her wear
A fashionable number made of chintz
Soft and feminine
She made a fine lady and I told her so
Her knees bowed slightly
One leg behind her
Pulling at each side of her dress
A sweet if clumsy courtesy
Her eyes searching mine for approval
Which I provided with a broad smile
And my arm around her tight
"Linger here a moment, duchess,
Whilst I make myself a proper escort for thee"
Giggles followed me as I went inside.
Once I made ready we set out afoot for our destination
The new home of young Louisa
For as much as I adored her
My life was far too fraught with oddity and peril
To share with anyone
And I explained all this
In answer to her please that it be otherwise
Assuring her I would never be too far away
That she would ever be out of my protection
Though I doubted she would have need of it
So then the questions of her new life began
And I entreated her to be patient
As I had a tale to impart
That would make it all as clear as day
And so, arm in arm
Her attention captured fully I began
"Before you, there was
Another"
A mi humilde morada
"Antes, no había
Otro "

Are they slices of sweet acceptance...or is it more home made pasta from your bathroom :) I am so glad you like dear Louisa. She was such a sweet lady. Still rolling around in my basket of hugs, enjoying every one so much :)
ReplyThanks so much, dear! Yes, I told it a bit out of order but, hey, it all happened a few hundred years ago so I can be forgiven for wandering a bit :) Prequel 1 coming next!

ReplyALlright, now why blogging ? Why don't you find an editor "pronto ?"
Reply(maybe I meant publisher ? You know what I meant right ?)
ReplyI like writings that are out of order, they seem to me more true to life, that only seems to be lived linerally while in fact time itself is a far more tricky concept.
ReplyVery nice post my friend <3 kiss :-)

It sounds like you are well equipped for the nature of my story telling. Especially at a part far distant where the ability to keep timelines straight will be very handy :)
ReplyHaha no not at all. I was deeply insulted ;)P I do feel like I need an editor sometimes when my poems get so long, but then I just say oh well, I like them that way :) Now a publisher, yes, I would like one please. Do you have one handy?
ReplyMany kisses and thanks dear :)

The last 3 novels I read had a lot of jumps back and forth in time, but I didn't found it too confusing, it just takes a bit more concentration to follow.
ReplyHave a lovely day!
