Reflections / Reflexiones / Riflessi

We are all recovering from loss
We are all healing from hurt
Within us all beat burdened hearts
To be human is not to be
Yet we work so hard
Expend our every effort
Exhaust our souls
To ensure no one else can see
The pain and sorrow
The grief and rage
We hold it tightly to our breast
Afraid to share
Not a child with a new toy
But alleged adults
In fear
Our fears
Are too frightening for anyone
To bear
Our damage
Will be too damaging
If seen by those we love
That our injuries will injure the very people
We dream of helping to be whole
And so our tongues stay silent
Smiles stapled to our faces
Diverting every vain attempt
To access our inner places
And the good we do
Seems good indeed
But never really true
Because what people really need
Is to see themselves in you

Sostenemos firmemente a nuestra mama

Dentro di noi tutti i cuori battere gravata
Per essere umano non deve essere
Eppure noi lavoriamo così duramente
Sviluppare il nostro sforzo ogni
Scarico nostre anime
Deviare ogni vano tentativo
Per accedere ai nostri luoghi interiori
E il bene che facciamo
Sembra buono anzi

I read your poem once again...what is to be human? as strange as it may seem, I sometimes feel like suffering can connect us. when we are honest about our fragility, we somehow realize our true strenght. To be human for me means being both strong and fragile.

this poem is also like the saying "everything you do reflects in you" love begets love, happiness begets happiness, and the one who can really see it is only this poem my friend, Shamu..

It would be so lovely to hear from you. I promise to respond either here or on your blog.
