You, Yourself and You / Usted, Usted Mismo y Usted

Usted importa

Greetings, my friend.  So glad your travels have brought you to my door this fine day :)  Today I offer a little exposition and expansion on the ideas of my last 2 poems.   The main themes were "never be changed" and "always be yourself."

As we grow, we learn new things, we adapt to situations, we add tools of wisdom in our emotional toolbox.  Those are certainly types of changes and are necessary and often make our lives better.  But what about when they do not; when the things we learn and the situations we adapt to leave us different in a way that damages our true self, and the tools we store in our toolbox are so poorly constructed as to be dangerous.

You can call this true self by many names; an essence, a soul, a presence, an aura.  And I believe it is vital for people to know this self.  And I believe that without such knowledge, your full potential will never be reached.  The power found in the understanding of self, the acceptance of self, is limitless.  You always hear we only use 10 percent of our brains and I think that can be applied to our knowledge of self as well.

Vive grande

So what gets in our way, what stops us from connecting with our most primal, real essence?  Mostly it is ourselves.  Look how busy we keep our lives, the constant stream of input we crave from media devices, the difficulty in just sitting quietly.  How can we possibly hear ourselves, know ourselves with our addiction to distraction?  What chance does a voice so soft have against a world so loud?

And I think the cacophony is very intentional.  We have been taught for so long to behave, think and believe in certain ways and shamed so heavily for daring to color outside those lines to look inside and know yourself can be a dangerous thing.  What if we are not "acceptable"?  What if our ideas are not like what the world says is "right"?  What if we are (gasp!) DIFFERENT!!!  And I do not mean the easy kinds of different that are actually very not different anymore, the outward ways people try and express their individuality...in the same exact ways as everyone else is.  I am talking about those who see the world in truly different ways, who approach every new situation with a curious mind, who let their knowledge and love of self spill over into wanting to know and love many.

¿Qué pasa si no estamos "aceptable"?

Estar Muy Bien. Hacer un buen trabajo. Mantenga parar. Gracias, los empleados

Getting in touch with your true self is not an easy task.  Here are three tips to help:

Stop setting goals -- Oh I hear heads exploding everywhere :)  Goals are an excuse, a distraction, an evasion from what you should be doing:  seeking self.  I promise you, if you find yourself and accept yourself these things you aim for, the things your truly want, will not need to be made "goals", they will just happen.  And the goals you have unknowingly let the world foist upon you will suddenly seems quite silly.

Surround yourself with seekers -- Spending your time with those who are perfectly happy without a knowledge of self, who are so satisfied with having a lifestyle instead of a life, is a giant stumbling block to your own progress.

Pay attention to your body -- Your body speaks to you so often and often so loudly.  And yet it goes widely unnoticed.  The signs your body sends can be great indicators of your true self.  Listening to them, really feeling them, is a great shortcut to inner knowledge.

He aquí tres consejos para ayudarle:

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I appreciate it very much and I love love love all the sweet sweet sweet comments :)  You guys are amazing!  And I promise you, your true selves are equally amazing :)  Many hugs and wishes for a wonderful week!

A hat, a har, a hat!!!!!! (My fave thing!)

"What chance does a voice so soft have against a world so loud?"
Yes, that's v true and v sad. Though I personally should be spending my time seeking the quiet, still voice of God. Something I am not so good at recently.X x

You are a hat lover, I forgot that dear :) And I promise you searching for yourself, being a woman of faith, you will find the voice of God right there waiting for you. The kingdom of God lives in your very being.

Very deep words and really so true but unfortunately not heeded by most, including me, I'm afraid. I associate your words with meditation, looking inside yourself to know yourself and find peace. This is a crazy material world. Have a great Sunday

The emotional toolbox is a great concept. On the part about being different, I'm experiencing that every now and then. It seems like I just don't fit into the majority at times but I'm always glad when people do not bother about this fact. Stop setting goals is a new one. I think 70% of people would be tearing their hair from their scalp and pondering "WHAT??? DON'T SET GOALS???! HOW NOT TO?"

A great and inspirational post!
